Holiday Cards and Addresses
What do you do with your holiday cards once the holidays are over?
Do you save them? Why?
If you do, where do you store them and do you ever look at them again?
Well I have found a resource that will take your cards, recycle them and it goes to a good cause.
Send Used Holiday Cards in bulk to:
St. Jude's Card Recycling
100 St. Jude Street
Post Office Box 60100
Boulder City, NV 89006
The children of St. Jude's precision cut the card fronts and glue them to pre-printed card stock. The children receive fifteen cents per each acceptable card made which is divided between their savings and college fund, their cottage fund for special group outings, and to provide the kids with extra pocket money. The children can make special orders for any occasion. The most popular requests are for angel and teddy bear cards. Custom orders with special printing, etc. are also available.

When a holiday card arrives at our house I do the following:
I rip off the return address label and either tape or staple the label to a piece of notebook paper. This goes into my tickler file until the day I address my cards. I use this and the previous years "holiday address pad" and then file with any left over cards for next year. This all gets stored with holiday decorations because the information isn't needed until then and does not need to be in my files; however if there is an address I want to add to my address book I will enter it before storing.
